About YUCFP & Strive
York University Community Finance Project (YUCFP) is a community-based research project that seeks to increase the financial capacity and well-being of financially excluded Canadians, that is, Canadians who do not use the services of mainstream bank or credit unions but rather rely on alternative financial service providers, such as payday lenders and the like, for their everyday financial needs.
Strive is an early-stage social enterprise working to build financial resiliency and equal opportunity for individuals while pushing for change in our economic system. Strive brings people together and uses peer groups to build an ecosystem that strengthens capacity, provides support and encourages individuals to advance towards their personal goals.
Finesse your Finances Research Study
Strive & the YUCFP recognize how stressful money can be with 47% of Canadians living paycheque to paycheque¹ and 27% of students very stressed out about paying for school², more so than finding a job after graduation or achieving academically.
YUCFP & Strive are excited to pilot an ecosystem based approach to helping students build financial resiliency. Learn more about the research study.
